Small Wonders: Baby Animals in the Wild – Marilyn Baillie

Small Wonders is partly fiction, partly non-fiction.  each set of facing pages illustrates the baby animals and their parent in their natural habitat.  One page has a boxed text with factual information written about the animal written in simple third person style.  The other page tells a similar piece of information from the ‘animal’s’ point of view, in first person.  The illustrations by Romi Caron are delightful and inviting.  (Who doesn’t love baby animals?)  Thematically links to habitat, life cycle, environment, animal families, survival, Canada.  Marilyn Baillie.
