Yonie Wondernose

Yonie Wondernose is a Caldecott Honoured book from 1944.  It is still being published today.  I just bought a copy for my church library.  It is sweet story about a Amish boy in Pennsylvania.  My children enjoyed hearing it today.  It sits well beside the “Little House” series and other depictions of early life in North America.  Fine pencil and watercolour drawings highlight passages of the text to encourage developing readers.  A good book to cuddle up with.

  1. Brings back memories of reading to my girls every night. We would head to the library every week to pick out about 14 picture books. They were read to and then they read to me until they were about 10.

Marvelous memories around the wonders of a good book…
