Animals at the Edge

Author: Jonathan Baillie and Marilyn Baillie Copyright Date: 2008
Animals at the Edge is junior non-fiction. Animals are appealing for many children and this book is a well-written one to peek their interest. The layout is effective and the photography is excellent. The factual content is interspersed with biographies on scientists working in the field studying the endangered creatures. They highlight their action plans to intercede on behalf of these animals.

Any single section would make an excellent read aloud for non-fiction text, discussion of text features, how to read for details, make use of captions and glossary.

A wonderful addition to the library!
